Our Mission

To reverse systemic disinvestment by building community capacity that supports low-income resident entrepreneurs as drivers of economic and social change.

Our Vision

To advance a proven community development model of supporting low-income entrepreneurs in systemically disinvested communities of color and to generate more awareness, acceptance, and resources to build this movement in communities across the country.

Our Values

Assets

We focus on the assets and strengths of people, communities, and neighborhoods rather than perceived weakness and liability. An asset-based approach reflects a specific mindset. We know that entrepreneurial talent and energy exist in every community and can be developed to fuel community revitalization.

Action

Talk is cheap. We are practitioners first, working towards meaningful results that make a real impact to residents and community members.

Impact

We work to provide real resources, real support, and real change. We work to improve the material reality of people, families, and neighborhoods.

Justice

The disinvestment we see in communities and neighborhood across the country is not an accident but the result of centuries of racist laws and practices. We are leading a movement to even the playing field and replace poverty with opportunity.

Adaptability

We are not stuck in traditional business methods of support to our neighborhood entrepreneurs.  We adapt our tools to match the reality and potential of our communities.
